Kong's Red Junglefowls

About Us,

I am a full-time graduate student at California State University, Fresno.  I spend the majority of my spare time with my wife and daughter and what little is left is spent taking care of my jungle fowls.

I have been raising red jungle fowls since the age of 12.  Now 26 years old, I have raised birds from various strains that include Fresno Zoo, San Diego Zoo, Richardson's, Rodney Michaels', and birds from the country of Laos.

In 2007, I acquired my two breeder Laos Strain red jungle fowls from a relative.  These birds are derived from eggs that were collected in the jungles of Laos and later imported into the United States by a gentlemen with the initials N.D.V.  These two birds are the heart and sole of my breeding program and make my line unique.  They are the reason I have called my line the "Laos Strain."  These two birds possess what many Hmong elders consider to be true crows of birds from Laos.  My goal is to breed for true jungle fowl conformation and most importantly, crows that are similar to the wild birds of Laos.

Raising red jungle fowls is a passion and hobby of mine and not a primary source of income.  As a result, I breed with the philosophy of "quality, not quantity" and operate in the mindset of breeding only to improve my stock.  I have limited breedings each year and only breed selected birds after extensive and meticulous planning.

Please contact us for any inquiries and/or if you would like more information about acquiring birds in the near future.  Likewise, if anyone has a strain they feel is unique, please contact us as we are in constant pursuit of new strains and bloodlines.
